Virgin Atlantic is to help Yorkshire’s nervous flyers with its first ever “Flying Without Fear” course in the region.
The one-day workshop for flying phobics will take place at Leeds/Bradford airport on June 17, featuring a team of captains, cabin crew, consultants and trainers.
The day includes learning about aircraft functions, noises and safety, as well as a 45-minute flight to see if it has worked. The course costs £199 and includes a CD, certificate, free membership to the flying club and a 2,000-mile bonus. Virgin claims a 98% success rate.
Director Richard Conway said: “We have one woman who came to us in 2003 who has been on 24 holidays since. The course works because it’s so personal and interactive – and seeing people conquer their fears can be truly amazing.”
