The model of Concorde that sits at an entrance to Heathrow looks set to be replaced by one of an A380 after British Airways opted to stop renting the site.
The Model Concorde has stood on the roundabout site for 16 years and is regarded as a symbol of British technological achievement. The Prime site at the entrance to Heathrow’s Terminal 1,2 and 3 is seen by millions of foreign visitors.. However the space has now been rented for an indefinate period by Emirates airlines, which takes it over on April 1.
Vic Sheppard, emirates’ vice-president for the UK and Ireland, said the deal symbolised a changing of the guard in the aviation world"
